How to Stay Steady When the Holidays Turn Up the Volume

This time of year has a very specific flavor, doesn’t it?
The pace quickens, emotions run louder, and without realizing it… we slip into old patterns before we even take our first sip of coffee.

And there’s a reason for that.
Our brains are wired with negativity bias — an ancient survival mechanism that automatically scans for what could go wrong before it ever notices what’s going right. It’s not personal. It’s biology.

But here’s where your power lives:
When you recognize the emotional current underneath the moment, you reclaim choice.
When you take a Sacred Pause, you interrupt the unconscious spiral.
When you become your own encourager instead of your inner critic, you rise.

And wow… did I need those reminders last week.

When you notice irritation, anxiety, or heaviness creeping in — pause.
Ask: “What is this emotion asking me to pay attention to?”
No judgment. Just awareness.
 

2. Keep your self-care non-negotiable.


Yes, your workouts might be shorter.
Yes, the walk might be 10 minutes instead of 30.
But your nervous system still needs you to move your body, breathe fresh air, and come back home to yourself.

3. You don’t have to navigate this season alone.


We’re more resilient in community.
