Create the perfect gift for Mother’s Day right from your heart. Come join our workshop on April 22nd and April 29th with your completed work delivered in time for Mother’s Day gifting. We will guide your hands in creating a manifestation bowl, which incorporates the written intention for the recipient, whether for your mother, yourself, or anyone who has nurtured you in your journey.
A guided meditation will assist you in choosing your intent and Donna Pelzar of The New Street Knitter will guide your hands during the crafting process. You will also learn the skill of linking intent with mindful knitting. This is a powerful grounding tool which will serve you well both during the workshop and in the future.
Nancy will open the session with a guided meditation to assist us in crafting the perfect affirmation, which will then be written on parchment paper and be kept close at hand as we knit the simple bowl shape. Each stitch that is knit is an affirmation or focusing of your intent. When the knitting is done, your own personal affirmation will again be written on special water soluble paper and woven thru the stitches of your bowl. As the bowl is felted, the paper disappears, but your words become one with the fiber.
Skill Level: Little or no skill required. This is an ideal way to learn to knit and engaging for the seasoned knitter.
Materials: Fiber will be Manos de Uruguay. This product, Manos, is from a woman’s co-op in Uruguay whose profits are funneled back into the community. All materials and supplies are included in this two day workshop. For more information on Manos go to www.manos.com.uy/.
