Sometimes when we are in the midst of significant personal challenges, it can be difficult to stay connected to a stillness practice. We know and understand why we should; however, part of the processing of the challenges itself often leads to emotions of disappointment, anger, and hopelessness. These thoughts can result in the feeling that everything has failed you.
During these personal challenges, ask yourself lovingly and compassionately, “Why is this in my life experience? This is in my life experience to teach me what about myself?”
The key is greeting these questions with love, compassion, and free of judgment of self and the life experience. When we release the burden of self-judgment, the challenges somehow become lighter. With practice, you can and will experience this sensation, trust me on this one. These questions help us see, in awareness, patterns in our life. From this awareness, we can tap into the stillness further to assist us in changing those patterns.
Living in full awareness with no judgment about what is occurring as though you are viewing it from a third party view helps take out the emotional attachment and “sting” of the experience. Therefore, allowing you to choose how you want to respond. Remember you are on a journey and there is no mastery.
